Acai Bowl is my main squeeze




Hey friends,

So I've been so busy lately, abnormally busy and haven't been eating the most variety of foods. I have been eating a ton of Acai bowls though.

They're so easy to make & taste delicious.

Short on time? 
Try a quick Acai bowl. It has nutrients, it tastes delicious, and it's super quick. If you don't have time to eat a smoothie bowl, then make a smoothie to go. Ingredients are minimal, but packed with nutrients. 

Here is why
 I love Acai :

1. Acai has a low glycemic index number,
 so if you're a diabetic this is a great treat for you. 
Especially because you can make Acai ice cream. YUM.

2. Promotes Healthy hair and skin. Why? Because Acai
has a high amount of anti-oxidants and Vitamin C. 

3. Aids weight loss! Yes, this yummy fruit helps you stay full
and helps reduce fat deposits. 

4. Anti-Aging properties. This vitamin C packed fruit has many anti-aging properties. 
I mean, I don't mind getting older, I just want to look young foreverrrrr (ha-ha)

5. Acai help the body detox. Has a good amount of fiber to help your digestion as well. 

There are so many other benefits so do some of your own research. Make an acai bowl and 
load up on nutrients. 






All you need are some packs of Acai, one to be exact.
Throw in a banana, some water and blend! 

You can always add frozen pineapple and mango to make it sweeter and more tropical.

Spirulina does the body good




Calling all vegans, vegetarians and Meat eaters.
 Here's why YOU have to add Spirulina to your diet. 

WHAT IS SPIRULINA?

- Spirulina is a blue-green Algae that is packed with so many nutritional benefits that our bodies crave. 
It comes in a powder form and just in one teaspoon gives you a bunch of nutrients. You can add this anywhere. I typically love it in smoothies and smoothie bowls. You really can't taste it.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SPIRULINA?

1. PROTEIN
As I wrote previously, Spirulina has so many benefits. Protein is a BIG one. How many times I get "Where do you get your protein from?" from non- vegans is a little absurd by now, but in just one tablespoon of spirulina you get 16 grams of protein! that's insane. Do you have any idea how small a tablespoon is? Crazy, right?

2. Anti-Oxidants
Packed with antioxidants, their ORAC number is over 24,000 which is 4-5 times BLUEBERRIES! We all love Blueberries and we all know it's packed with anti oxidants and they're great to snack on, but come on want an easy boost of anti-oxidants then spirulina is your best friend. 

3. IRON
Non- meat eaters AND meat eaters everywhere struggle with Anemia. I love beets, but one serving of spirulina gives you 44% of your daily requirement. LOAD UP. 

4. BETA- CAROTENE aka VITAMIN A 
Spirulina has more beta-carotene than carrots. The body converts Beta-Carotene into Vitamin A which gives you beautiful skin, hair and nails. Ummm, I'm adding this to my daily diet, yep it's official. 

5. CALCIUM
There's a reason why my title says " Does the body good." For decades we've been told Milk doe the body good, which we all know now IT DOES NOT. Looking to get calcium though? 
Spirulina is also incredibly high in calcium with over 26 X the calcium in milk. 
So awesome. 

Don't take my word for it, research it. Start adding it to your diet ASAP. 

Remember when I wrote I loved to add it to smoothies and smoothie bowls?

My MOST FAVORITE Smoothie bowl

Ingredients: 
1. Fresh squeezed Orange Juice
2. Fresh pressed Apple Juice
3. Frozen banana
4. Frozen Pineapple
5. Frozen Mango
6. Lemon Juice
7. Mint Leaves
8. Spirulina
9. A handful of greens
10. Top with Banana, chia seeds, hemp seeds & Granola 



Chocolate Chip Mint Smoothie 






INGREDIENTS:

1. Almond Milk 
2. Mint Leaves
3. Drops of Peppermint Extract
4. Cocoa Nibs (packed with nutrients)
5. Frozen banana
6. 2-3 Dates
7. handful of greens
8. Spirulina

With Eat Güd, Falafel Here! Falafel there! Falafal everywhere!









Have you ever had a good ol' falafel? 
Mmmm, I have. Just the thought makes me drool a little bit because as all of my friends and family know I am obsessed with food. 
I am a little mouse that goes into the kitchen at night and start crinkling wrappers, and ripping boxes, just to find whatever yummy snack I can. 
Snack should probably be my middle name, because let's face it... I LOVE FOOD. 

Anyways, 
I have had and continue to have middle eastern friends in my life. Have you ever been fed by a Middle eastern woman? OH. MY. WORD. 
When you're full, they'll still make you eat and after that even a little more. Middle eastern women are so nurturing, I love them.

Howeverrrrr, traditional falafels are deep fried. Yep, Deep fried... and made with WHEAT. Dun, Dun, Dun ... If you're like me, You avoid wheat as much as possible or at all costs. 

WITH THAT BEING SAID....

I just found the holy grail of Falafels.
is a company that I have just been exposed to, and let me tell you 
I AM HOOKED.

The company makes all sorts of yummy foods and snacks, I haven't tried them yet but if they're anything like their Falafels O-M-G! I want it all. 

Here's a little story, I went to Whole Check, I mean, Whole Foods the other day and saw these in the fridge. I thought, " Eh, Ill try it. They're SUPER clean. Why not?"

I was NOT expecting to try what I did, THESE ARE THE BOMB DOT COM. TASTE EXPLODED IN MY MOUTH. 

They're basically, everything free. Gluten Free, Soy Free,  Nut Free, Vegan, etc etc... you're basically eating air with the most phenomenal taste EVER. I 100% had to stock up on these.
I Have a bunch in my fridge that I stare at like prized possessions every time I open my fridge.. I've been eating them morning, noon and night. 

Im addicted, yet I feel great after eating them, and even though they say "SNACK" on the box, these are SO FILLING. I'll eat an entire box for lunch and feel full. It's amazing how quickly they fill you up with the cleanest ingredients. 

They come in a pack of 5, with a sauce on the side. The sauce is everything. 
You must taste the sauce.

They're really think so don't shove the entire thing in your mouth, you wont be able to chew it enough and swallow. Take small bites at a time and savor each bite. You won't regret it.

feeling a cold coming on? Starbucks has a drink called the Medicine ball...





Hey Beauties,

It is officially cold season! Everyone and their mom has a cold. I myself have caught one and I thought " Oh man, definitely getting healthy in 2018. Never catching this again."
Having a cold or the flu is NEVER, EVER fun.

but, you've caught it. Now what?

Maybe a quick run to starbucks... but not for coffee

Starbucks has a drink on their menu called "The Medicine Ball," or " The Cold Buster."

It used to be only on their secret menu, but it's now an official menu item.

I had to try, what sounds like cold therapy, immediately.










Now, this typically comes with 2 bags of honey  but if you're vegan and or don't eat/drink honey just go ahead and tell them to omit it.

I added one pump of peppermint to my drink, but that's totally optional for you.

This drink was overall tasty and so soothing on my soar throat.

Definitely will be my go to drink, whether I'm sick or not.

Thank you starbucks for the healthier options!

And yes, you can completely and entirely make this at home... but why would you ? When you're sick, a drive thru is what heaven looks like.

Plant Based Ranch Dressing





Hey Beauties, 

[ Organic ∙ Oil free ∙ Gluten Free ∙ Vegan ∙ Paleo friendly ∙ Soy free
Ranch dressing ]


Heaven on Earth does exist and it's called 
Hilary's  Chia Ranch dressing

Their brand carries an Oil- free Ranch dressing. WHAT!? life is instantly complete. The best time in my life was when I was 100% plant based and oil-free. I have to say, at the time, it was the hardest lifestyle I had ever kept. Never was able to eat out, made everything from scratch, salad dressing was ONLY lemon and salt. I definitely was at my healthiest and thinest though. 

However, I just may go back to OIL-FREE after finding this little piece of heaven

Anyways, I was in the store and stumbled upon this dressing. I read the ingredients and thought, no way?! Oil-free AND vegan? Count me in.

This dressing is completely plant based. Made out of whole food organic ingredients
and here's the real freaking kicker... it tastes so delicious!
Look, I can't promise you that this tastes like the dairy, chemical, and toxin filled RANCH, because I haven't had the popular (terrible for you) ranch in so long that I can't honestly compare anything to it. I can say for certain (my opinion at least) that it tastes delicious and I'm literally obsessed. 

If you're looking for a creamy vegan, plant based, soy free, GMO free, paleo friendly, organic, ranch dressing please give this stuff a shot. It's like $4 or so and worth every penny. I'm going to the store to get more asap.

1. SPINACH
2. ARUGULA
3. RED ONION
4. AVOCADO
5. SILVERED ALMONDS 
3. HILARY'S RANCH DRESSING 










SO SIMPLE, SO YUMMY + SO DELICIOUS!

It's kale ! It's spinach! No... It's Watercress!!!!!

Hello Beauties.... 
If you haven't heard of Watercress then you're missing out on  powerhouse greens... The Goddess of Greens... The VIP of Greens!




Most of us have heard of Kale, Spinach , and Cabbage. However, WTF is watercress? Well, I'm here to let you in on the best kept secret ever.
Kale, Spinach and Cabbage are some of the most nutrient dense greens, but did you know Watercress was rated number one in nutrient density out of all the greens? Yep! check out 'BATTLE OF THE GREENS' for more info on the study.

Watercress received a score of 100! 

Watercress contains 106 percent of your daily recommended intake for vitamin K, 22 percent for vitamin A and 24 percent for vitamin C. It also contains calcium, iron and magnesium." - The Huffington Post 

That's right, these little greens are filled with so much goodness for your body it should be against the law to NOT eat this specific green.

I absolutely love to put these in smoothies, in tacos , sandwiches or sprinkled on top of avocado toast. 
I typically try and use a lot when I eat watercress, but I definitely wish I ate it more consistently. Such a powerhouse green for our health. Definitely 2018 goal is to be the healthiest I can be.  

I have found these so far at Whole foods + Sprouts. Both place have them organic. Can I get an Amen and a Hallelujah ? AMEN! HALLELUJAH!
