Vegan "Whipped Cream" [ A Q U A F A B A ]

 Who loves WHIPPED CREAM ?
Raise your hand !  I just raised both my hands, oops.
However, I do eat vegan whipped cream.
[ NOT PIMPLE JUICE WHIPPED CREAM AKA DAIRY ]
You know, "whipped cream" made out of Coconut our Soy Milk.

Buttttttt, I just discovered the most amazing freaking thing on this planet.
Okay ya I'm exaggerating a bit, but it's pretty freaking fantastic I can't lie.

AQUAFABA!
It's basically whipped cream, but made from chickpea juice. You add some sugar, I add stevia and some vanilla and you whip it! whip it good!
okay, you use a standing mixer or else you're arms are going to be so sore.
Hey, at least you'd get a good arm work out.
Ok, no don't do that. Trust me, you'll regret it.
Use a standing mixer for easiest and fastest results.
Anyways this is the healthiest, easiest
and cheapest "whipped cream" you'll ever make.

ALL YOU NEED:

2   BPA FREE CANS OF CHICKPEA JUICE

(JUST DRAIN THE CHICKPEAS FROM
THE CAN AND USE THE JUICE)

1 TEASPOON OF VANILLA

3-4 PACKETS OF STEVIA
OR HALF A CUP OF ORGANIC SUGAR

ALL YOU DO:

-COMBINE ALL INGREDIENTS AND
WHIP IT WITH AN AUTOMATIC MIXER

-YOU'LL MIX IT FOR ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES

- BAM! THE TRANSFORMATION IS COMPLETE!
OH YAH, OH YAH
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME!

HERE YOU SEE A RAW "COOKIES N CREAM" SMOOTHIE
TOPPED WITH AQUAFABA

Vegan " Tuna " Salad

When you decide to eat a Vegan diet,
you have to give up ALL animal products.
It's the best thing to do for your health, for the animals and for our planet. However, most of us were raised on animal products. Sometimes you just miss the flavor of something or the texture. I don't blame ya, you've been enjoying certain meals since you were very young. It's not your fault. The good, no, the GREAT thing is that we can make almost anything animal product free! Some versions may taste better than others, but I promise with a little experimenting and change in your tastebuds you soon won't miss anything.

I for one, used to LOVE tuna fish. That was just my thing. There were times when I first went vegan that I missed a good ol' tuna fish sandwich. So with that , you know I had to make it vegan. It took some tries, but this is my GO TO, SUPER EASY, yummy Vegan Tuna salad. Not only are you cutting out the suffering of animals, but you're also cutting out mercury, plastic (our oceans are contaminated), pollution, Oil spills etc and so much more that our poor fish in the oceans eat.
Don't even get me started on Farm raised fish.
Just ignore it all and make this dish.

This is perfect to make when you don't have much time.
Its great on greens, like a wrap or on Bread as a sandwich...
You can even eat with just some cracker or with a spoon.

Should dogs go Vegan? My dog's Vegan story // VEGAN DOG MONTH!!!

Hey everyone!
Thank you for stopping by my blog and checking out my dogs vegan story.
First of all I wanted to answer the questions I tend to get a lot,

Can dogs actually be Vegan?
The short Answer is YES.
Dogs are Omnivores which means they can eat just plant based foods
eat other dead animals, or both.

Can a dog be healthy on a Vegan diet?
The short answer is YES.
Just like being on a meat based diet, you still have to make sure
your dog is getting the proper nutrients his/her body needs to live
a long healthy life.
You can feed your dog a meat based diet and your dog still can
be unhealthy and end up dying from a terrible disease.
Meat Based diet DOES NOT mean "healthy" just because
it's for your dog.

If you were to switch to a Vegan diet , which is the best thing you could do for your pup,
you would also have to make sure
your dog is meeting their daily nutrition requirements, which honestly
is extremely easy. Especially if you're purchasing Vegan dog food like
V-dog. I like to give Romeo V-dog PLUS a bunch of
fruits and veggies as snacks through out the day.

Some snacks that I give romeo are
Organic carrots, red bell peppers, blueberries,
and sweet potatoes.

On to Romeos story and where his health stands today:

Romeo is a young 9 year old maltese.
I have had Romeo since he was 3 months old! Oh man, 3 months old. You wouldn't believe how adorable he was.
Here, let me attach a pic real quick:

Cute right?! UGH I can't even handle the cuteness overload.
Anyways, back to his story
One day I was driving past a puppy store
( PLEASE ADOPT, DON'T SHOP)
And I spotted a " GOING OUT OF BUSINESS" sign on the side of the road. Out of curiosity I pulled into the shopping center and I went in.
I saw so many cute maltese puppies, many more maltese puppies than I could have ever imagined.
They weren't in cages, they were almost in oversized boxed. I picked up a few to play with and looked at their pricing on the wall. The puppies were being sold for a lot of money, but I realized that even though it was "a lot" of money, it was probably a lot less than usually, but still.
I had been thinking about getting a dog for a while, I lost mine that I had for 15 years just a few years back.
I really didn't think about adopting because I was so young (way before I was vegan).
I didn't really think about buying either. I was still in college and really wasn't in the position to get a doggy.
I ended up leaving the store and went to grab lunch for myself and took some to go.
I started to drive by the store again and just the " Screw it, im getting a dog."
I went back in and had my eye on one particular puppy. I went to the owner and offered a pretty low ball amount for him. She looked at me said " If I say yes, Will you take him now?"
I said "ABSOLUTELY!"
So when she said "Deal," I ran and grabbed Romeo. He was the chill, laid back,
non caring puppy. To my surprise, he was in the hands of someone else. I remember thinking, 'OH HECK NO!' I went up to the lady and said " Sorry, I just bought him."
And that's the story about how I got Romeo.

Now on to his Diet and health....
Romeo has always been a very happy, full of life, and spunky puppy. I've never seen him sad, or heard him growl (just in playful ways), he , to this day, has never bitten anyone or anything.
He's always just been, amazing.

The first Vet I took him to suggested I buy him Science diet.
Since a VET was telling me, it's what I did. I trusted the vet knew best. A couple of years later, I found out that Science diet wasn't what I thought it was. It wasn't The best, like I was explained.
I went into PetSmart and found out they put the "best" food in the front, and the worst in the back. I went ahead and bought him some Organic food and thought I was doing him well.
I started researching more and was more confused than ever.
I ended up cooking for romeo for 2 years or so.
I was making him Organic Brown Rice with different veggies and Organic Chicken.
His health was really thriving. He never had any health issues until that point.
I went Vegan and didn't realize that dogs could be vegan.
When I researched, I realized to give him the best chance possible (especially coming from a puppy mill) I had to put him on a Vegan diet STAT.
I researched companies and found V-DOG
What made me realize V-DOG was the one, was that it had watercress.
If you know what watercress is, then you know watercress is the most nutrient dense green there is. I was like DONE, DONE, and DONE. I ordered it immediately.

Romeo's health has had it's ups and downs the last few months,
but I had to say I took him off V-dog for a couple of years. BIGGEST REGRET EVER.
He just went back on about a month ago,
and his health is just getting improving
Everywhere I take romeo they ask me if he is a puppy, he isn't. He is a senior. When people find out they have this shocked face. He is so young looking, and playful that it's hard to believe he's almost 10 years old.
He does have a best friend who's 2 years old and is on V-dog as well and has an energy that can't even be explained. She helps keep romeo young also. Ha-Ha.

If you want to know if V-dog will meet your best friends needs,
this is what they have to say:

"V-dog kibble is formulated to meet or exceed all guidelines for adult dog nutrition per AAFCO standards, so you can feel confident that it will meet your dog's needs."

If you're still not 100% convinced Check out V-dogs testimonials here:
TESTIMONIALS

I hope this all helped you on your journey of putting your dogs on a Vegan diet.
Not only is it best for our planet, other animals and our pocket (less money at the vet)
It's best for your Family member, aka pet , aka fur child, aka love of your life =)

Oh! and this is Romeo now (including the photos on top).
Don't mind his pink fur, he got into my lipstick and blush ha-ha.

XOXOX,

Oh heyyy, Taco Tuesdayyy!

You know what I love about Tacos? That you can make tacos out of virtually anything. Have some tortillas? Throw anything yummy on them and BAM! Tacos.
I love to make Tacos because they're my favorite.
There is something about Tortillas, beans and avocado that make me drool.
Of course you can add whatever you want to a tortilla and call it a taco, but my tacos have to have beans and avocado.
Yep, that's just my style.

Anyways, I just wanted to give you guys an example of how I make Vegan tacos. Every time I make tacos, I change it up.

This week, however, this is what I used:

1. Organic Mini Corn tortillas
2. Organic Black Beans
3. Organic Watercress (my favorite green)
4. Raw chopped organic Red onions
5. Raw chopped organic Garlic
6. AVOCADO, DUH =)
7. Vegan Parmesan cheese
8. Vegan chopped Cheddar cheese

THAT'S IT!
Do you realize it took me like 10 minutes to prepare these from start to finish? The quickest meal ever and probably one of the cheapest.

Were they good? Does a dog bark? YES!

How do you guys make your tacos?

Thank you for stopping by!

XOXO,
Ash Ninette
